Traction boards are the kit you use at the worst possible moment: vehicle bogged, wheels spinning, often on your own. The bracket that carries them has one serious job — hold them dead still for thousands of miles, and let them go in ten seconds.
The MG Off Road traction board bracket is made from black-painted steel, produced entirely in our own workshop.
Quick release, no tools
The boards are secured with hand-tightened eye nuts. No spanners, no tools: unscrew by hand and the boards are free.
That is the difference between a bracket designed by people who go off-road and one designed at a desk. When you need the boards, you are stopped somewhere you did not want to stop — hunting for a 13 mm spanner in the boot is not an option.
Adjustment plate
A sliding plate runs inside the structure, allowing the fixing points to be moved along the bracket and adapted to boards of different lengths.
The bracket was developed around medium format boards, approximately 1040 × 300 mm. Adjustment travel is [XX] mm, and the transverse spacing between the eye nuts is [XX] mm: check this matches the spacing on your own boards before ordering.
Capacity
The bracket is set up for a pair of boards. Fitting longer bolts allows four boards stacked, for convoy travel or deep sand work.

Security
Traction boards are among the most frequently stolen items from parked vehicles. The eye nuts accept a security cable or padlock, which can also be run through the boards' own handles: the load stays mounted even when the vehicle is left unattended.
