MG Off Road Steps for Universal Wheel Mount

Anyone travelling with a roof tent or a loaded rack climbs up and down dozens of times a day. Without a dedicated step you end up using the bumper, the tyre or the rear door handle — awkward, unstable and, in wet boots, the quickest way to hurt yourself.

The MG Off Road steps bolt straight onto the universal wheel mount and turn the spare wheel into a stable climbing point.

Non-slip surface

The tread is machined with a serrated non-slip surface. It is the detail that matters when you climb with muddy or wet soles — which is exactly the condition you will be using them in.

Negligible footprint

The steps are sized to protrude as little as possible: they stay fitted permanently without getting in the way of everyday use and without altering the vehicle's profile. When needed, they come off completely by undoing the mounting bolts.

Integrated bottle opener

Each step carries a bottle opener worked into the structure. A small detail, but the kind you appreciate in the evening, once camp is set.

Mounting

The steps are designed for the MG Off Road universal wheel mount, with which they form an integrated system. The hole pattern also allows fitting to MOLLE panels, though they work less well there: the spare wheel is their natural home.

Designed and built entirely in Italy, in our workshop in the Apennines.

Warning: before use, check that your vehicle's spare wheel carrier, rear door and hinges are rated to carry a person's weight. The limit of the system is set by the weakest point in the mounting chain.
